Some readers suggested I capture announcements on the blog that I have mentioned on Twitter (since tweets go away so quickly), and I have some new news to tell you all about. So, here is!

1) We are accepting new contributors and building a team of Women With Droids to keep this blog active, so let us know if you want to “try out” by guest-posting! The only requirements are that you have to be female, and you have to write about the Droid or Android apps, of course! We love hearing about how different women use their Droids in their everyday lives. If you want to contribute without writing posts, let us know, we have other “jobs” you can help with!

(P.S. Even though our writers are women, and some content will be female-centric, men are certainly welcome to read & comment on the blog & twitter – several already do!)

2) We are giving away a handmade Droid case from an etsy seller every 4 days for almost the next month! Enter each one by following the instructions & commenting. Keep up with the giveaways by subscribing to RSS or following us on Twitter!

3) Speaking of RSS, if you were one of our very early feed subscribers (before there was a link at the top of the site), you will need to re-subscribe using the link above. We switched to Feedburner and it apparently deactivated our old RSS feed link.

4) We will be changing our post permalink structure soon. That means old links (with the post ID numbers in them) won’t work anymore, so you may need to update your bookmarks!

5) I updated the AddtoAny plug-in, so now when you use the “t” link at the bottom of posts to share the article link on Twitter, it will include @DroidWomen so we can see it in our Twitter mentions list. We really appreciate all of you that have been sharing our posts on your social networking sites! We’re growing quickly because of you!

6) We started putting polls in the sidebar, so keep an eye out for new polls and tell us your opinions!

7) I am in negotiations to with Etsy artists to design us some very cool Droid stuff that will be sold exclusively on WomenWithDroids! Hopefully this will happen in about a month, I’ll keep you posted!

8.) Yes, Android 2.1 updates are supposed to roll out to Droids this week, starting tomorrow – Yay!! Let us know if you get your update before we do!
