App Review: SMS Backup

Are you addicted to SMS like I am? If so, SMS Backup is probably the one app you can’t live without!

SMS Backup backs up your SMS messages to your Gmail account (using IMAP) and neatly files them away under the SMS label. You can even set SMS Backup to mark new SMS as read in Gmail, so you won’t have to even worry about reading the messages unless you need them!

My only complaint with SMS Backup is the speed – sometimes it can be incredibly slow, and it only syncs up to 100 messages at a time.

Auto backup sounds like a great idea in theory, but with Android’s poor battery life, you may choose to just manually back up your messages once or twice a day.

SMS Backup is a simple app, it does exactly what the name implies, nothing more, nothing less. I give this app 5 stars for ease of use and uncluttered user interface.

This app sounds like a wonderful idea. Not being able to back up was one of my main problems with my old phone. Thanks for reviewing this app.

I just looked in the market and there are multiple by that name. Which one do you use?
