App Review: FeedSquares

As a DroidWoman on the move, I tend to spend a lot of time on the road/in the air/not directly connected to the internet. I have lamented the lack of a Google Reader app because of this. How else can I check on my ever-growing RSS feeds and keep current with the multitudes blog posts, web news updates, and cute kitty pictures?

FeedSquares for Google Reader is the answer, and not only is it a useful solution, it is an elegant and attractive solution. Looks may not be everything with some apps, but with FeedSquares it takes RSS feed aggregation to a whole new level. FeedSquares synchronizes directly with your Google account and pulls your Google Reader content into the application, providing an easy-to-use interface for navigating your various unread items. Here are your quick and easy instructions for use (after the starting configuration is set up) from your friendly neighborhood DroidWomen.

1. Open FeedSquares
2. Touch the square for your desired feed category
3. Touch the square for your desired feed
4. Touch the post – simple!

FeedSquares provides your Google Reader content without sacrificing any quality, pulling in post image previews under the feed view, and full content inthe post view. The FeedSquares developer, Rocket-in-Bottle, also gets bonus points for their comprehensive tutorial on the app blog – check it out here.

If you’re a connectivity fan like me, and love having your online reading material readily available, you will definitely appreciate this app!

Note: There is no mention on the developer blog for supporting other RSS aggregation providers.

I use Google Reader daily, so as soon as I clean out some rarely-used apps that are clogging up my app space, I need to try this!
