If you’re a woman and you own an Android phone, especially the Motorola DROID, and would like to participate in this blog as a guest author or regular contributor, please let us know in the comments! A few women I’d especially like to have write for us so we can see how you utilize/customize your phone include:
This list is nowhere near exhaustive, though; no matter who you are, I’d love to hear from you and what kind of articles you want to contribute to the blog!
P.S. Once this blog grows large enough to start making profits, of course I will split the income with all contributors!
I would happily contribute if you’re looking for people. I don’t know if I meet your demographic – Sys Admin by profession and I travel about once a month – but I’d love to give it a try! Came here via @droidwomen twitter feed.
Great, if you’d like to blog with us, you can start with a guest-post about anything you feel like writing about! What you love about your Droid & how it helps you in daily life, a review of a favorite app, or anything! DM @droidwomen with the email and username you want to use as a login and I’ll create a WordPress account for you here.
Thanks!
Renee
Hey Liz,
I’m testing out a comment reply notification plug-in. Please let me know if this arrives in your email!
Thanks!
Renee
Hi,
I’d like to help. I own a Nexus One. I’m a real techie, meaning I must always have the latest and greatest. I’ve owned three other Android phones, beginning with the G1.
I guess I fit into your demographic in a couple of ways. I’m a mom and a constant traveler. I use my phone to do nearly everything. If I am not near a computer, I most likely have my phone out. I am noticing more and more that I prefer my phone to the computer.
Cheers,
Veronica
Hi, Veronica!
This blog mostly focuses on Motorola Droids, but if you are willing to write about apps that we can also run on our Android OS (currently 2.1), I would love to have you contribute!
We have everyone start with a guest-post, then as time goes on I will form a core team of regular contributors.
Just email me at renee at womenwithdroids dotcom or DM me at @droidwomen with your email address and I’ll get you set up with a login so you can write a post!
Thanks!
Renee
Hi I have a droid and previously had a g1 I love this phone! I am currently in my last yr of college and I also work full time I’m a busy busy bee! I would love to help I’m not a big techie but I play around enough w the phone and apps 🙂
Hi rose! OK well if you want to try a guest post, just email me what you want to write about (maybe an app review?) and what email address you want to use and I’ll set you up with a WordPress login!
Thanks!
Edit: oops, forgot to include my email address! renee at women with droids dotcom
I have a blog: http://www.bickfordblogs.blogspot.com
Most of this blog deals with comparisons with my DROID and the iPhone (actually the iPod Touch in my case) or discussions of features. This is more of a platform play although I do cover specific apps. There are a few other topics as well.
Currently I am finally going to dig into GPS, mapping, and location-based services.
That sounds really neat! Would you like to do a guest post about the Droid for current iPhone users considering switching over or something similar? Maybe your favorite features the Droid has that the iPhone doesn’t, or what people with iPhones think the Droid can’t do that it can? Or even a review of your favorite apps would be good. Just let me know what you want to write about!
Wow. I can’t believe I found you! I’m so happy.
I would love to help out. I just started a blog not too long ago:
http://thenovicetech.wordpress.com/
and have been venting about the lack of girly Droid cases! I love your contest and probably wouldn’t have bought the one I had if I had found you sooner. I think you’re site is terrific. I’m happy to review applications, help promote the group, etc……
Great! When I get organized and back up to speed on this site (I’ve been focused on other work and also had to go out of town), I will send you some info on how to get involved.
Glad you like it!
Thanks Renee!
After watching the Google IO 2010 Keynote on day 1 where man after man got up on the stage I started searching for women and androids. I am an Android developer, I’ve recently published an app called TextDooDad it provides a query tool for your text messages and calls. I am wondering if there might be an unserved market of women who want different types of Android apps. If so I’d love to hear from you. Any other women Android programmers out there?
Hi Diana,
Glad you found us!
I’m in the early-learning stages of Android development. I also have a lot of app ideas and would love to talk to you. I’ll drop you an email.
Your app looks useful, maybe someone that texts more than I do can review it more here on the blog!
Hi! I’ve commented here before, but I wanted to reiterate that I love the idea behind your site. I currently run a tech blog at Autostraddle.com, which is a site for “girl on girl” culture, though we’re inclusive of everyone (we’ve had some male guest posters, and plenty of non-queer posters as well. Our tech readership is generally all over the place too– in a good way!)
Would you be interested in swapping guest posts? I’d love to have something about the ever-expanding Droid line and where it stands today, if that sounds interesting at all to you. Or, if you were interested, it could honestly be about most anything! And I’d love to write something(s) for you guys as well– I’m not a Droid owner, but I’m a recent iPhone convert (to the Evo) and I’m loving every minute of Android!
Either way, great site, and great aims! I pimped your (adorable) Droidette sleeves a little in a post today, so I hope that bring some case-seekers your way!

Great, I will email you!
Hi! I’ve started running a Droid blog as well, and I have been following you some time now on twitter, I was wondering if there was any way we could start a relationship of sorts between our website?
If you want to talk more about this, please email me and we can see what we can cook up!
