Yeah, you’d think Google (search engine king) would make searching the market better and easier and not get tripped up by these things!

It is on AppBrain but it’s possible it won’t show up in your market if it doesn’t support your OS. Hasn’t been updated since August and is still called a “Beta”:

Google ‘z4root’ and download the .apk file. Place the .apk file on your phone and install it. When you open the app there are only two buttons…permanent root or temp root. Pick permanent. Youre done lol Btw in my case, i had to restart my phone, then go back into the app to root. I rooted my friends phone and it worked on the first try. Either way…incredibly easy.

Glad you were able to get through all of the steps successfully, and yeah this process is a bit on the complicated side, but produces great screenshots!

Commenter Josh above figured out that you can skip steps 5-7 and everything you need will still be installed.

Since we wrote this, some apps have been developed that do screenshots – at least screenshots of homescreens. I haven’t used any of them, though!

I’m but one non-developer woman, peeps!

Unfortunately, I literally won’t have use for any of the SDKs again.

Thanks for the step-by-step review. There’s absolutely no way I would have gotten through without this info!

These directions came in handy. The first time, I screwed up, but I was able to get it working on the second try.

I just downloaded an app yesterday called Home++. I haven’t configured and used it much yet (when I do, I’ll review it here) but it can take screenshots (at least of the homescreen, I haven’t tried it outside of Home++ screens).
